Kato Double Crossover and AR1

I am trying to configure a loop back using a Kato Double Cross over and an AR1.  Does anyone have any suggestions on were I should place the AR1 and were I should insulate the track?  I am running in DCC

A track diagram would be immensely helpful.

There was a recent thread on powering walther double crossovers.  I don't know how much of that is applicable to the trackwork you are using, but there are some diagrams you might find useful.

I think what you are describing is that both tracks on one side of the crossover connect in a loop, hence a reversing section.  The gaps for the reversing loop doesn't need to be at the crossover, just somewhere in the loop; but it should include enough track for your longest train.  That's where you would put your AR1.

Whether the AR1 could also manage frog power in the crossover too, is light years beyond my pay grade.

This depends on the rest of your layout.

LION has a double crossover leading to the 242nd Street terminal. On the other side of the crossover is the rest of the layout, about nine miles worth. The power is applied on this, nothing more than a very large loop, and the terminal gets its power form whichever side the interlocking plant is aligned for.So there are no gaps. Well that is not quite true, since my crossover is not powered at all. With 48 wheel pickup that becomes moot. But the terminal tracks are powere according to the alignment of the tracks, and there is a whole host of relays inside of the fascia to handle the signal and interlocking logic.

But that was not your question, now was it. But seeing more of your layout would give creatures like the LION or even some of the primates here a better idea on what you were trying to do.

LIONS are anmoured of interlocking plants, and so when confronted with a switching problem involving the infrastructure.him tries to picture how the interlocking plant would be built. Once LION has that much in the mind of him (limited as it is), him can figgr how to wire it.
