I noticed in the new MR an ad for MRC's new Loco Genie. Is it a true radio control system?

 

I did some research this morning searching the Internet and YouTube, it looks like pretty neat stuff and if Tower Hobbies has the price listed correctly that looks good too.

I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

I just checked the MRC website and it listed all of the Loco Genie products as "out of stock".

 I'm waiting to see what they do with this, since the ad is typical MRC, full of hyperbole and short on facts and specifications. I'll go out on a limb and guess this won't be compatible with any of the other direct radio systems currently on the market.
