JMRI icon best practices
Posted by NP01 on Monday, November 9, 2015 11:16 PM

Hi,

I am doing a panel for my railroad (Francisquito Valley, track plans and build thread elsewhere on this forum) on JMRI.

Just want a simple panel- not really looking for a US&S prototype or anything.

What icon set to use? I am presently using mediumschematics>track and tracksegments. I have issues with both:

  • Branches are hard to do. Only 90 degree curves.
  • Segment has "ends" to it, so if I had a long block it looks like multiple blocks
  • I can't combine sensor and turnouts; so turnouts don't change color when that block is active.

Rather than hang doing a bunch of hand-made images, I am  wondering what works?

Why not use Layout editor instead of Panel editor.

I will try this ... thank you. I have been wondering what the Layout vs. Panel Editor does ...
