peahrensflat black plastic handle, threaded (for 1/4" hole, I recall) shaft for control panel mount.
Why has to be threaded your switch?
LION uses non threaded switches on the panels of him. A small blob of silicone caulk will hold the switch in place. Want it back out again, just give it a twist and out it comes.

+1 to what Mel posted seventeen months ago:
I also buy from Bill Moldovan at LED-Switch.

Reasonable prices, reasonable shipping and pretty decent quality and selection.
Good Luck, Ed
For basic stuff and if you have an amazon prime account, go to amazon and search for DPDT switch. It will be a lot cheaper than mouser, parts express, and digikey because all these places nail you on shipping. $8 processing on a $0.30 part isn't acceptable to me.

It also says on the main page "posted 1 year ago by <OP>"
But I ignore that too. Better than 200 topics about the same thing.
The online presence will probably remain, just like it did last time - there's stuff available at radioshack.com that NEVER was in the stores, even in their heyday. Mouser and DigiKey are better sources though. And there's always Amazon. Much of what you find on Amazon is the cheap CHinese stuff (pretty much the same at Radio Shack) but instead of buying it on eBay and waiting weeks for it to chip from China, you can pay slightly more on Amazon and have it in 2 days (if you have Prime).

Blue doesn't warn us that an old thread has been resurrected. I, like Maxman and the newbie that resurrected it and I'm sure many others did not notice it was a question asked years ago. Anyone who wants the switch, in the link that works, ought to buy it quick, Radio Shack has declared bankruptcy for the second time in 2 years.

Maxman you have made 2 posts in 70 minutes that I totally agree with.
zstripe.the thread is close to 2 1/2 yrs. old
I see that now. You know, there should be a big red star applied to a topic when it regains life.

Maxman,
I wouldn't be surprised...the thread is close to 2 1/2 yrs. old. I'm also quite sure that Peahrens has taken care of His query in that time........

I know the exact switch you are describing. It's an SCI 55 DPDT Mini Toggle Switch.
Radio Shack # 275-0663
When you search for it on radio shacks website you need to leave out the dash. For some reason radio shack has stopped using the dashes in their SKUs which is strange since they have doing it that way since the 70s.
Here's a link:
Actually, Mike...the one's with the handle, are easier to throw, on those size switches.
Who knows now, but at one time these switches were offered with chrome, black, and several other variations on the toggle handle. Strictly a visual thing, but you may also have a preference so worth poking around to suit your tastes.

Paul,
I have three of the switches You are talking about...have a flat black plastic handle and it's marked SCI 55, I can't make out the MFG Logo on it, but It's a 6A 125VAC/3A 250VAC DPDT Center Off...I threw the packaging away, so don't know the MFG, but I have seen similar with that handle. Mouser carry's a lot of MFG'ers parts, here is a link:
http://www.mouser.com/Electromechanical/Switches/Toggle-Switches/_/N-5g2j?No=125
BTW: It's very possible, that I got them from Radio Shack, which of course, You know You can get them cheaper, elsewhere.
EDIT: This should be the one You are talking about...It was Radio Shack and You can get the same cheaper:

Radio shack shows some panel switches with black throws, DPDT
I'd like to ge some additional on-off-on miniature toggle switches, solder connections, flat black plastic handle, threaded (for 1/4" hole, I recall) shaft for control panel mount. I have one on my panel but can't find a record of it. I don't see it at All Electronics, and Mouser has so many I get lost. I can't read much identifying marks but on one side is marked 55. Any help appreciated.
