RR Baron,
While I understood what you were originally saying, I can see how Bruce could interrept it the way that he did. A "file" can mean a number of things.

Blind Bruce,
Decoder is OK! Re-read what I wrote. The few errors are misprints and omissions in the documdentation.
He's saying the MANUAL has errors with what they list for the default CV values compared to how the decoder is actually set.

Thanks folks. When you say that there are errors in the decoder, what is a customer supposed to do about it? Is a new decoder the only option? I just bought this loco from Walthers a few months ago so it should be up to date. ????

All the way at the bottom, second column, HO Diesels has the S-2. CV115 is the horn selection, value of 0 is a Wabco E2 (probably the correct for the prototype), 1 is a Leslie A200/A125, and 3 is a Nathan P3. CV129 is the horn volume, the default of 225 is almost as high as it goes (max is 255). Standard problem with Tsunami decoders, the horns are very weak.
My new Alco S4 (#816 Milwaukee Rd.) is working well after a few tweeks of the pickups. The sound is very good but the horn sounds frail and weak. I have not been able to find a list of the CVs that pertain to this loco. Is there a choice of horns or was the Milwaukee roads units turned down?
