Yes, CV22 is the place to look. You want F0R disabled in consist for both units. That way only the headlight on the lead unit (loco or the cab car) will come on when that unit is lead. It will be off when that nit is trailing, sow hent he train is moving in the direction of the loco, the cab car's headlight wil be off, and vice-versa. And with F0R disabled, the rear light on the cab car won;t be on when the loco is pulling, and the loco's rear light won't be on when the cab car is leading.

MRH044 rrinker It's supposed to be pretty easy to swap the lead loco in an NCE consist, so that's what you should do. WHen going the opposite direction, with the cab car leading, you make that the lead unit. Then its horn will sound and not the loco pushing on the opposite end. --Randy Randy, you are right, it is pretty easy to do that. So, that solves the problem with the lead unit sounding the horn and the wistle. Anyone know how to make the rear unit's lights operational in the consist? I have all my commuter equipment programmed to light red marker lights when in reverse. If I could get the rear locomotive in the consist to have its lighting functions for forward and reverse enabled, that would be awesome. Thanks!

modelmaker51 2. Give the loco and cab car each their own numbers and then use the advanced consisting funtion on your NCE throttle to consist them. I'm not sure you can program the lights to go out in the loco when in reverse, so you may have to disconect the reverse lights.

Even when I use the advanced consist on the NCE throttle for two locomotives, only one of the locomotives blows the horn and rings the bell regardless of direction. This is fine when the units are together, but since the cabcar is separated from the locomotive by several cars, it is obvious that the sound is coming from the locomotive instead of the cabcar.
I want to know if anyone has been able to program a consist of two locomotives where the lead locomotive (directionally) is the one to sound the horn and bell. When the direction is changed, the other locomotive in the consist would then blow the horn and ring the bell.
You just consist them like they were two locomotives. This can be done a couple of different ways.
1. If you want to permanently put them in a consist then program them with the same engine number. However the loco's lights will reverse when reversing directions. You would have to phisically disconect the lights in the loco's reverse direction.

I'm hoping that I can get some guidance on consisting in order to run more prototypical push-pull commuter operations.
I have locomotives with either Tsunami or LokSound sound decoders and cabcars with the Tsunami Soundcar decoders. I want to be able to consist the locomotive with the cab car where both decoders in the consist have light functions operational but only the horn and bell of the lead locomotive (or cabcar) would function. I use NCE for my DCC operation.
I would imagine that it should just be like consisting two locomotives where the lead locomotive would have its headlights on and the rear locomotive would have its backup lights on. And only the lead locomotive horn and bell operate. When the direction is reversed, the lighting would change and the locomotive that is now the lead would have the horn and bell operational, while the locomotive that is now trailing would not have the horn and bell operational. But, I don't know how to program that or if it is possible.
Any guidance you can provide would be much appreciated! Thanks
