Greetings, I am something of a dinosaur when it comes to keeping my DC layout operational. For years I used an MRC SoundMaster and the lodule placed inside a tender for my steam sounds. For years it worked fine.
However, the module finally died of static overload and has left the layout.
As an alternative since the layout is already wired to conduct the SoundMaster signals thru the rails, can I just simply wire a speaker inside a loco (or dummy unit) that draws current from the rails to play the individual sounds? I know it wont chuff anymore, but perhaps at least play the same sounds from a moving train that I get from the facia mounted stationary speakers.
Any thought would be appreciated
Chuck
