For FX3 functions, on F3, non-directional, on when F3 is on, you want to set CV113 to 38.

Where did I get that from? Page 42 of the decoder manual, non-directional, on when function is on, phase a (does not matter here - phase A or B matters for alternating strobes or ditch lights), is a 2 as the first hex digit. Back up a page, to 41. Rotary beacon is 6 for the second digit, so 26 in hex, This is 2x16 + 6, or 38. And CV113 is the controlling CV for FX3 function F3.

Or just use JMRI and pick it from a list.

need digitrax FX3 programming help
Posted by rwbishop on Sunday, June 7, 2015 3:51 PM

I just added an amber led to one of my shifters, and wired it like usual to light + common, and F3 function pad. I want the rotating beacon simulation, which is easy to program but. I can't get it to work constantly when F3 is on. It will only work when my F3 is on and my locomotive is in forward or reverse, I can't get it to stay on regardless of direction. I can't find anything to help solve my problem on the digitrax site. Does anyone know what I could program into cv's to make this work constantly, no matter what direction my loco is in? I appreciate any help, thanx
