Recently I got my replacement (New) DCC 130' Walters turntable with the blue control box. I switched out all the components except for the pit and even added a on/off power switch. My problem is that when I try to zero out the table, it does not stop turning (doesn't find the zero point). I listened to the table as it crossed the lazer reader and I heard a faint noise from inside the turntable, like it was reading the eye, but the table does not stop. Any ideas?
It makes one wonder if the sensor for the DCC turntable is different from the earlier one. I suggest you call the Walthers parts department and ask. You may have to change out the pit. Otherwise I haven't a clue.
I did change out the sensor assembly and fingers under the pit with the new ones and used the new turntable.
Have you tried performing a Reset?
Yes. I tried several times resetting but to no avail. I would reset, try to zero, program each of eight tracks then everything gets lost when I remove the bridge because it didn't zero out.
In one of your posts you mentioned replacing the "fingers under the pit." I assume by these you are referring to the wipers that contact the underside of the bridge shaft. Could it be that one or more of these got bent such that it is not making contact? Or is crossed with one or more of the other wipers?
And please don't be insulted by this question: Is the hole through which the sensor "see" clean and clear?
Beyond that I think a call to Walthers is in order.
The new wipers (fingers) are in good shape but the sensor hole question is a good one. I did not check it. How would I clean out that small hole except with a blast of compressed air. I'll check it out tomorrow then maybe call Walters.
I had that problem and found the peice that connects the sensor to the pit was not in proper place.
Thank you. Could you tell me exactly how you went about lining up the sensor on the pit wall?
It should snap in place at the proper spot. Just make sure it is seated properly, it seems to be able to shift out of place. I guess they fiqured that would be better than breaking off or maybe I am giving them too much credit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK. Thanks.
