Tsunami will indeed have a shut down hitting the "Em,Stop" knob when running with automatic notching (CV116=1 to 15,usual 7).The problem is that not all throttles have the "Em.Stop" knob,the Zephyr DCS51 is one of them.
Anthony, I have an MRC prodijy system and when I hit the emergency stop button with the loco standing still (diesel anyway) it will do a shut down, although not as dramatic as QSI, and when I restart I will hit it again, before hitting the + and - quikely, the loco does a little starup without taking off. I do this only with Tsunami. There's probably a better way but it works for me.
Den.
I was forgetting...some factory installed Tsunami decoders (Bachmann,Athearn) don't have all the Tsunami features and may not have this one,I can't tell.
I believe the question is about manual notching wich Tsunami do have.
CV116=16
F9 triggers diesel engine start-up sequence to notch 1,then every press of F9 cranks up diesel sound up a notch up to notch 8 if desired.Locomotive will not move until prime mover start-up is completed,as per prototype.
F10 will reduce diesel engine sound with every press down to notch 1,from where an extra press of F10 will trigger prime mover shut down cycle only if throttle is back to 0.Throttle 1 will void this feature.
Using manual notching will cancel manual control of compressor and fan sounds.They can be made automatic by giving CV112 a value of 3.Hope this helps.
Tsunami decoders do not have a shutdown procedure like QSI and some others.
CV 113, Quite Mode Timeout Period, is the closest there is to a shutdown with a Tsunami decoder, but all this does is set a time delay before the sound turns off -- it is not a true engine shutdown like you're asking for.
Go to the SoundTraxx web site and download their Tsunami Diesel Technical Reference Manual for a complete listing of supported CVs.

How do you get the Tsunami sound decoders to go into the pre-progrmmed shut down where you hear the engine actually shut down?
