I know some sound decoders for diesels have an option where you can manually control the notches. Not sure if they would work if the engine is in a consist?? Otherwise, you could set the CV setting the 'rev rate' to the highest number, so the engine 'rumble' stays on idle no matter the speed.

When consisting a locomotive how do you program it so that some of the locomotives have their prime movers in sync with each other while the programmed ones have their prime prime movers in idle while they are dead in tow. All my sound decoders are TCS.
