Hello there, I just got back from a trip to europe and while I was in france I bought an example of their equipment in the form of a diesel rail car made by Jouef, which is a division of Hornby International.
Having had a limit of 150 euros, this was the only piece of equipment I could afford that could run on it's own, but while it has a spot for a 21 pin decoder, it comes with an analog board that governs the lights and routes the relivant circutry throughout the model. Now that I'm back home in the US, I wish to find a decoder that would work with it but I do not know where to get one as all of the decoders I have seen here are either the nmra 2x4 8-pin connector, the quick release connectors found on some of my soundtraxx decoders, or decoders that are meant to be sodered into place. If anyone knows where I might be able to find an appropreate decoder, or could point me to someone who might, I would be greatful for the help.
Localized modifications I may make to the unit would be what would be done if the prototype were imported to the states, though I might be satisfied with the abillity to change the horn and add a bell if a sound decoder could be found.
Welcome. It would be nice if you sign your name.
Check with LokSound. They are on the other side of the Pond and make sound decoders.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Loksound has a class X 2800, but not an X 2200. Looks like a 2800 is a 12 cylinder diesel-hydraulic and the X 2200 is a 6 cylinder diesel-hydraulic.
