Loksound Select - Medium Steam Sound
Posted by richhotrain on Thursday, December 18, 2014 4:55 AM

About a year ago, it was mentioned on this forum that ESU was working on a medium steam sound for the PRR K4.   Does anyone know if the medium steam sound has been released yet?

ESU USA's web site shows all available and planned sounds.

Unfortunately, copy and paste seems to be one of those features the forum's current software doesn't allow.

The only PRR specific sound file they show as being planned is "PRR Heavy Steam."  Nothing for a specific type of PRR locomotive.

All I did was select the URL, Control-C, came back here, made a post, and hit Control-V. You must use the normal reply, not quick reply.

I don't have any Loksound steam decoders but love their diesel ones.

Have you considered TCS Wowsound steam. I don't remember if they have a PRR passenger whistle but they offer 40 to choose from.

I have two locomotives equipped with Wowsound with the keep alive and I think they're great.

There's a short thread on the PRR modeler's forum where one of the members writes that there is a PRR 3 chime freight whistle and a PRR Passenger K4 whistle included.

For what it's worth... just a suggestion.

Have Fun, Ed

WowSound has a light, medium, and heavy, as well as an actual recording of R&N 425, a former GM&N/GM&O Pacific.
