I have an Alco RS3 (Atlas) with Loksound Select decoder. Great sound.

There's also Loksound. Even better Alco sounds.

I would call either Tony's Train Exchange or Litchfield Station and ask. These are both knowledgeable and reputable vendors with competitive prices.
I recently received a Walthers RS2, it has a 9 pin Harness, any recomendations as to what sound decoder and speaker combo works best. I have several engines that came with sound and I have put sound in a 0-8-0. But I do not want to cut anything up. I have not seen any drop in units. Soundtraxx has a TSU-AT1000 Alco 244, digitrax has the SDXN136PS but does not have the Alco, so I would need to download the sound file(Hassle) MRC would be the very last resort. Comments, Ideas? I do use a DCS51, several UP5 panels and 2 UT4 utility throttles.
