Decoder reset
Posted by PupfosterG on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 7:09 PM
I'm trying to reset a Lenz decoder by changing CV8 by entering a value of 33. I page command and receive a reply of good. (Using Digitrax DT100). From what I understand this should also change address back to 03. Apparently I am doing something wrong as address won't revert back to 03. I'm not trying to just change address but reset decoder, I'm using lack of address change as verification reset didn't work. What next?

I am not a Digitrax user so I'm just guessing here but have you tried using address of 3 instead of 03?

Try 8 instead of 33. Bachmann on board non sound are Lenz decoders and Bachmann says to use 8.

I do know 33 is recommended.

How old is this decoder? There was a time when no one's decoders had a reset option.

Are you power-cycling the engine after the reset ? After you set CV8 to 33 (that is correct for Lenz), tilt the engine off the rails for a few seconds and then back down. That should reset the decoder.

Yes. Forgot about power cycling. It is automatic with me.
