QSI "CHIRP".....?
Posted by wobblinwheel on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 1:03 PM

I am the unfortunate owner of a original-run PCM/BLI Pennsy I1sa 2-10-0. It has been a real "piece of work" to say the least, trying to stop the running gear from "jamming" at very slow speeds, using traction tires. After years, finally gave up on traction tires, but engine won't pull much of anything without them. I finally tried bullfrog Snot on the geared (blind) driver, the jamming stopped, and the engine pulls about twice as many cars. NOW, while I'm pulling heavier loads, sometimes the sound system (QSI) emits a loud "CHIRP" through the speakers. Occaisionally when it does this, the loco will momentarily shut-down, and start back up. I have read thru the QSI manual, but haven't read anything about the "chirp". Does anybody know what the CHIRP is trying to tell me?? Sometimes I think this loco was made in Hell, by devils.......
