DCC install in Walthers American crane?

Has anyone installed a decoder in one of these DC powered self-propelled cranes?

I put a TCS decoder with 2 functions I think.  It was the smaller one but works great.   I also converted the lights with SMD LEDs(micro sized) so they work.    Basically formed the LED into an acceptable shape of light.
