Thanks guys, that is what I suspected it was, if it was not steam. Now I can figure out where to install it! The decoder includes a speaker

Correct - It's a version 3.5 decoder. If you plan on using it, be certain to use a 100 ohm speaker with it, else you will fry the audio amp circuit using a regular 8 ohm speaker.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
I volunteer with the model railroad group at the Boothbay Railway Village in Maine. Revently, we had a donation of items from a deceased modeler that included a number of decoders. One of the items is a LokSound decoder in the original box with no other information or documentation. Comparing the dimensions to the box info, it is either a basic LokSound or a LokSound mfx. The end of the box has the number 72438 written on it, which I assume are the sound files downloaded onto the decoder.
Can anyone help us identfy this decoder and its sound files? I had no luck on the LocSound site or with Tony's.
