I am new to JMRI and have a problem. I set it up so i can use JMRI and WIIthrottle to control my decoders. That works fine but now the Digitrax throttle no longer controls the decoder. did i mess up a setting some where to only be on computer control? or is this nomarl? i would love to use a phone and my digitrax throttle. thank you.
Using both a Digitrax throttle and a Wifi application simultaneously is normal. We do it all the time at the club. Digitrax throttle together with iPhone, iPad, iPod and Android is what we use regularly at the club.
You may have the loco selected by both throttle or you should clear the slots.

If it's still selected on the WiThrottle throttle, you should see the STEAL message on a DT40x throttle. Just say Yes.
If there's more to it than that, you may have inadvertantly done somethign else using WiThrottle. Read the decoder in JMRI and make sure nothing is messed up, especially with the addressing and CV29. ANd make sure CV19 is 0 so the loco isn't thinking it's in an advanced consist.

You should take this question over to the JMRI list on Yahoo!. There's a currently-active thread on this very subject.
It seems that if a loco is selected on two throttles (could be a WiThrottle and a physical throttle), then one of them releases or disptaches that loco, the other throttle is no longer able to control it.
My two cents: Although it's possible to select a single loco on multiple throttles, there are really very, very few good reasons for ever doing so. Developing good habits when it comes to dispatching a loco from a throttle when you're no longer going to actively control it with that throttle, will prevent issues such as this from ever being a problem. (Not to mention the non-JMRI related, but still all-too-common, "Why is my loco starting and stopping on it's own?)
It's been a while since I've had this problem, but I think I fixed it by restarting JMRI and clearing the register in the Digitrrax unit. Then running locos using only digitrax throttles. AFter all is checked out good, assign a loco to a wifi throttle that is not in use or has been dispatched by a digitrax thorttle. We run a lot of different type of throttles--digitrax, android and pc based JMRI throttles among the most used. So, dispatching properly is key.

You need to reaquire the address with your Digitrax throttle. this is normal when a JMRI throttle relerases an address on Digitrax. The address is marked "free" in the command station's slot. That mark means it is not currently selected on any throttle.
Simply press "Loco" on the throttle that has the address displayed. It will flash the number on and off. Press "Loco" again and the throttle should be back in control.
