Tsunami's are known for needing a little "tweaking" to get the changes accepted. Flashing lights and "lurching" loco doesn't always mean the decoder accepted the change. I recommend getting a DT402, this will display "good" on the screen if the decoder accepts the change.

First, let's make sure CV 29 is programmed to accept long (4 digit) addresses. I recommend changing CV 29 to 50. This setting allows you to use speed tables; turns off the analog mode (prevents runaway trains, particularly on a short circuit); 28/128 speed steps and loco normal direction.

Then, to provide the little bit of "boost", use the "blast mode" programming. Instructions here...

You must follow the instructions for the "blast mode" to the letter!! Also, it won't hurt to power down (remove loco from track), to "reboot" the decoder.

Please let us know how this works....

6612 is a long address and is stored in CVs 17 and 18; not CV1.  CV1 is for a two-digit address only, so the programming you're trying to accomplish is being ignored by the decoder.

You need to refer to the Digitrax instructions on programming a LONG (4-digit) address.

CV programing issues with Tsunami KT 1000

Hi everone,

I just installed a KT 1000 in my Kato GP-35. It works fine in 03 address. I can't get the CVs to change using the instructions from digitrax. I use a DCS51. I used both the programming track in dir mode, amd OPS mode on main track. In dir mode I set the CV 001 for 6612 using add4. It seemed to accept it when I flashed it,  the display on the throttle blinked once. I heard the staic on the speaker during flashing. I tried to run it using 6612 address but it did not see it. Using OPS mode on main, I got the code d nd. Hummnnnn do I need a booster?
