So, I've got one of the new Intermountain SD40-2 locomotives with Lok Sound Select DCC installed and so far, I am extremely impressed with the motor control of the locomotive. The Sound is pretty impressive as well.
I've run it across my Decoder Pro 3 programming track and have been able to make several minor adjustments to the sound volumes as well as adding a speed scale and changing the long (4 digit) address.
How do I adjust the ditch lights though? I want them to flash when I blow the horn (press F2) but I don't see any screen in the Decoder Pro 3 programming pages where the user is allowed to make these changes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to the ESU USA web site and download the technical reference manual for the LokSound Select decoders. Decoder Pro has possibly not been updated for the CV listing you need to adjust the ditch lights, but the LokSound manual will explain how to do it, and it's going to involve several CVs that Decoder Pro probably doesn't support.
The CVs involved range from 275 to 303, and CV 32 must be set to 0 before any of these are changed. After you download the manual, refer to pages 29 through 31. You'll be better off performing this programming on the main line with your throttle instead of trying to use Decoder Pro.
And you may find out that the Intermountain locomotive is not wired for flashing ditch lights if the prototype never had them.
I just checked the file for the Intermountain SD40-2. It appears both rear ditch lights are on a single function, but both front ditchlights are configured each to their own function. AUX1 is configured for ditch light left and AUX2 is configured for ditch light right. I also noted that the Grade Crossing logic function is not activated.
So, my assumption would be to just turn on the grade crossing logic function, and they should flash alternately when you blow the horn.
Try these settings ....
CV31 = 16, CV32 = 2
----------------------
CV316 = 128
CV's 31 and 32 are register CV's. You must set them both to the required value first before you set CV316.

I tried what you said and I could not get the ditch lights to flash. I think I am just going to break down and buy the Lok Programmer (as much as I don't want to).

The LokProgrammer is not going to help you at all if the ditch lights are not wired to flash. Contact Intermountain and ask them if they are wired for flashing ditch lights or are meant to always be on. Not all locomotives have flashing ditch lights.

You should use the latest DecoderPro (v 3.7.5) to configure ESU decoders. There are big changes being made behind the visible screens.
Mark. Those cv changes made the ditch lights dim when the bell is on.
Mark. This worked. CV31 = 16. CV32 = 2. CV316 = 128. Now the ditch lights flash when the horn is sounded. Thanks for your assistance.
So, I WAS right the first time ! Why didn't it work the first time you tried it ? No idea how I came up with CV300 the second time around .... obvious changed something wrong.

Mark...not sure why it did not work the first time. What we did though is we (my friend who has a lok programmer) did a complete reset of the decoder first and then made the CV changes. It seemed to work the second time around. Thanks again for your advice and follow up.
