From what I have read, Crest Electronics is a totally separate company that will not be effected by the closure of Polk's Hobby Shop and the Aristo-Craft brand name, so there should be no change in availability of their products.

Pretty sure you can use CVP's system in the same manner as the Aristo system for smaller scales, that is, use the throttle units that are meant to be installed inside a large scale loco as fixed throttles feeding block selectors or whatever DC control system you use. Instead of a 5 amp or so throttle mounted inside a loco, controlled by the radio handheld, you have a 5 amp throttle mounted under the bench controlled by the radio handheld. This is the same as using the Aristo system in smaller scales where the receiver/throttles do not fit inside the loco.

Dave,

I thought Crest was going to continue offering the former AristoCraft radio throttles? Or maybe my coffee hasn't kicked in yet and am confusing this with something else?

Wireless DC throttles

Yes I said DC.  With the demise of AristoCraft what if any makers of wireless control for DC are out there -- other than Rail Lynxx or similar systems that require modifications of the locomotive.
