Go to the ESU web site and download their technical manual for the specific decoder version you are using. Here in the USA, some of the LokSound decoders are different than in Europe, and advice we provide for a US decoder may not be correct for the one you have.
For the USA-specific LokSound Select decoder, as an example, there are 3 CVs that must be set to get ditch lights to work, and they are all in the range of 259 through 303. These 3 CVs set Mode, Brightness, and Special Functions.
European LokSound decoders may be completely different.
Christian,
What ESU decoder are you using? Also, how are the ditch lights wired to the decoder?
