One of the small wins compared to the large amount of losses I've experienced with steam locomotives in general. You would not believe the number of steam engines that I've messed up or have been messed up.
Interesting what seemingly non-involved things can mess things up in life in general. One of lifes mysteries designed to keep us on our toes I guess.
Glad to hear you got it rolling again, with a relatively easy, inexpensive (?) fix.
Have fun,
Richard
I kept getting intermittent electrical conductivity on one side of my Bachmann 4-8-2 Heavy Mountain. I used an ohmmeter, and it kept going back and forth between 1 and some other number. So I inspected the locomotive, and I found a broken drawbar on the locomotive side. The drawbar was broken and split in half near the knob. That's what was causing the stiff wires to lose electrical conductivity on the right side because nothing was squeezing against the knobs on the locomotive with the two stiff wires. I replaced the drawbar, and it runs beautifully on my layout now. Woohoo!
