I recently bought a used Mantua articulated 2-6-6-2 steamer which was missing one of the two motor to gearbox shaft coupling, also called a cross ball shaft or universal joint. The spec sheet shows this part# to be 25687384. I've searched the internet for over an hour but no can find. Any ideas where I can purchase a handful of these???
I don't know what that looks like. But NorthWest Short Line has a variety of shaft coupling universal parts and you might be able to match up what you need from their parts. See page 2-3 on the following link: http://www.nwsl.com/uploads/chap2_web_10-29.pdf
They are also called,'' Dog Bones''.

Micro-Mark offers a kit of assorted dogbone shafts and unversal joints if Model Power doesn't have any.
Now I remember what I forgot to include on my last Micro-Mark order.. I need to redo the drive in my brass RS3, it was previously remotored but the u-joint and drive shaft setup was a mixed back - long end is Athearn parts and works fine, short end was a mess, I got it working using the fuel line tubing but being a short piece it's a bit stiff. That set from Micro-Mark should have everything I need.
Certainly will have the pieces needed to fix the OP's Mantua.

It depends on the locomotives shaft size. Most can motors have a 2.0 shaft, as does Atlas, Kato, Stewart, etc gear boxes. Athearn always used 2.4 shafts for its motors and gear boxes. NWSL / Sagami used to be 2.4, now they are 2.0. Mantua / Bowser used 3/32.
Many kits only fit one shaft size.
M/M has a couple of kits, which one are you looking at?
