I have a Prodigy Advance2 system at the moment and I was curious to see if it was capable of being connected to a computer to utilize JMRI and it's capability to run trains on devices like smartphones and tablets. Our local club currently uses JMRI (with and EasyDCC system) and I would like to have a similar set up at home
The short answer is NO.
The long answer is quite complex, but until MRC decides to allow it, JMRI will not support their DCC systems.

Betamax is correct in that the short answer is NO, but the "long" answer really isn't that long or complex.
Simply put, MRC has refused to release their communication protocol to the JMRI developers. So unlike the other twenty-some system manufacturers that JMRI does support, MRC has decided to lock itself out.
thats a shame, looks like Im in the market for a Digitrax system. Any reccomendations as to where I could get the best deal?
