Athearn Genesis MP15 Factory Sound Setup
Posted by MRH044 on Saturday, November 30, 2013 9:55 AM

Does anyone have a picture that shows how the factory sound models board is wired?

Athearn used a custom Tsunami board for these models that I am trying to put into a non-sound version, but I don't know where to connect the pickups from the trucks or the motor leads to the board.

A picture of a factory sound installed unit with the shell taken off would be much appreciated! Thanks

There should be an arrow on the decoder, this points forward. The electrical pickups are generally front/rear, left/right. The motor contacts are usually in the middle of the board, M- and M+. The speaker contacts are S- and S+

Thanks for the response!

Here is what the Soundtraxx Tsunami board looks like that was made specifically for the Athearn Genesis MP15. After testing, I found that the pick up from the trucks comes to the farthest outside pins and the motor leads are in the center. The speaker and lighting bundles are quick-remove recepticals on the board.
