What is this automatic polarity switch you guys are talking about?
I'd like to incorporate a reverse loop into my HO plan.
Can you use this switch for an outside lawn railroad? I have one of those too.
A hand-drawn picture of what you think is the problem area is sufficient.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Also.. it is a DCC System, running four locos with full sound etc
Hi Gentlemen; thanks for resurrecting this issue. it is still a valud issue but have been sidetracked with work and and am adding a yard to the layout. FYI; have purchased the Digitrax AR1 and added a power booster. Same result.... i will post a pic when i get a moment. the lay out is too large 16 x 5 1/2' to snap all in one photo.
Thanks
Ray
I am afraid that Ray came and went months ago.
He posted 9 times early on, never to be heard from again.

Please turn off your Caps Lock key. Thanks.
Are you running DC or DCC?
Can you post a track diagram?
I wire my loops so that the polarity in the loop section is always the same direction. Trains can only enter the loop going through a spring loaded switch the correct direction. Once in the loop, the trigger activates the LGB DPDT switch which changes the polarity outside of the loops so when the train exits the loop section the polarity is correct. This is repeated at the other loop as well. Both loops have a trigger to the same DPDT poloarity reversing switch. With this set up, I avoid loop modules.
I HAVE WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A REVERSE LOOP AND OR A WYE WHICH IS 16 FEET LONG AND GOES INTO ANOTHER TRACK AND NOT THE TRACK IT ORIGINATED FROM. IS IT WISE TO IN INSTALL 2 REVERSE LOOPS MODULES. I KEEP GETTING A SHORT WHEN THE TRAIN IS GOING BACK INTO THE MAIN LINE.
