You may still have a ghost memory of it in your DCC system, particularly on a throttle.  Also, if the address is higher than "127", it's an extended or long address, and you might want to set CV29 to a value of 34.  You can do this on the main in Ops Mode.  If it's currently set at 38, the decoder sometimes reads current to the rails as DC current by mistake and begins to move.  Some people have had full-tear runaways that end in broken things.  Try setting CV 29 to "34", and also figure out how to get any lingering memory of this loco out of the system.  For example, with Digitrax, you can 'dispatch' each loco and remove it fully from spurios throttle inputs.  Not only can, but ought to do that when you go to play with another locomotive.

I was successful in resetting the engine, and it is working very well.  However, now it seems to jump a couple of inches when I am running other engines on the layout.  Is this normal for a BLI SD7?  Or is there something else I need to do for that model?

Here is what the manual says to do:

Q: I made a mistake programming.  How do I reset my Paragon2 Series locomotive to defaults?
A: There are two ways to reset the Paragon2 locomotives.
  1. Using your programming track, reset CV8 to 8. You will hear the coupler crash sound as confirmation the reset was successful.
2. Locate the manual reset button on the main circuit board. Place the model on unpowered track.  Press and hold the button.  While holding the button, apply power to the track.  After you hear confirmation that the reset was successful, you can release the button and re-assemble your model.  Loco address is now 03.

I have an HO scale BLI SD-7 that has some very strange momentum settings with the DCC.  I would like to reset it and start over.  How do you reset a BLI decoder?
