Yes, it is the BEMF changing when going into advanced consist. This is controlled in CV57. If you haven't changed it, it should currently be 6. Make it 102 (hex 66) to have the same BEMF in consist as it does running alone.

I've yet to see where it says Digitrax decoders drop to 28 step mode in consist?

Need Help with Consisting

Trying to consist two locos, both with Digitrax DH163's, with and NCE Power Cab system.

Using loco 1 as my baseline, I set loco 2 to match by setting CV2, CV5, CV6 to where the locos perform darned near the same speed at all steps.  Using two cotrollers I can run them independantly, one just inches behind the other, and see that the speeds are pretty well matched.  They both start on speed step 1 and crawl right along.

But I put them together in a consist, and they don't start moving until around speed step 11 or 12.  And at step 28, they're about half as fast as they are on their own.

If I kill the consist, both locos go back to running just like they did before.

I saw on another thread that the BEMF gets turned off when Digitrax decoders get consisted.  Is that what's going on here?
