I have that model and it came with Loksound 2.0 decoder. The headlight and number board lights operate with F0, cab lights F4, Bell F2, Whistle F3, F5 injector and CV 63 ( 0 min-3 max ) sets sound volume. If you ever come across a Trix manual I need a copy since mine was destroyed in Sandy. I will pay for the copy costs.
Elmer,
The Trix BBs came with a Loksound decoder and LED headlghts around 2005.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
When you say "Restoring", that tells me they are old and pre DCC.
In that case, I remember everything was wired to the track pick-ups in parallel. The only thing that may be different would be if the headlights and reverse lights were directional. If that is the case, all you need is a diode in one leg of each light, assuming that you are using light bulbs. You would need to orient the diode direction the correct way of travel for each bulb. Trial and error would work. Also, the polarity to the motor(s) from the track should be correct. You can use an existing DC locomotive as a guide.
Elmer.
The above is my opinion, from an active and experienced Model Railroader in N scale and HO since 1961.
(Modeling Freelance, Eastern US, HO scale, in 1962, with NCE DCC for locomotive control and a stand alone LocoNet for block detection and signals.) http://waynes-trains.com/ at home, and N scale at the Club.
Can anyone tell me how to find a manual or a wiring diagram for Trix Big Boy #22599 ? I am restoring two of the Big Boy's. The last thing I need to do is make the cab and engine numbers light up. I would appreciate any suggesstions or help. Thanks.
