CV 21, with a default value of 0, sets consist address control of functions F-1 through F-8. Setting this CV with a value of 128 should mute all the decoders in the consisted locomotives, but this value will need to be entered into each individual locomotive's decoder that is going to be part of a consist prior to creating the consist.

Tophias I have 2 new P2K GP-30 (old stock) with QSI sound. Both individually respond to the F8 mute function properly. However, when I mu them one of them does not mute. Is that normal? My assumption is it would respond to all inputs as if it were the "top" loco. and if I may, a second F8 question. I have a P2K GP-7 with QSI sound that does not respond to F8, even after I tried resetting it (cv40, cv50) on the program track. Thoughts? Thanks.

My experience with QSI P2K locos is that even consisted you have to dial up each unit to shut the sound off or play any of the sounds for that matter.

Try setting your CVs using programming on the main. Your programming track may not have enough power to do sound decoders. Also, when you try programming on the main make sure to disable the audible response first (set CV 62 to 0) first then do your programming and then reset CV 62.
