I'm working on an HO scale Bachmann 4-8-4 Santa Fe locomotive.
I installed a Soundtraxx Tsunami decoder (TSU-1000 heavy steam). I purchased it from Ulrich Models with an 8pin socket installed. This made for a super easy plug and play installation.
But the headlight and backup light operate in reverse. When going forward, the backup light is on. When going backwards, the headlight is on.
I can't use CV29 to change the motor direction as it works as intended.
I looked into the Tsunami manual about the light CVs, but strangely can't find an entry on how to alter the way they operate.
Is there a way to reprogram the headlight and backup light (other then rearranging wiring) so they operate correctly?

I believe setting CV33 to 2 and CV34 to 1 will do it.
Thanks for the tip.
While these entries (2 and 1) didn't work, I checked what the default entries were for CV33 and CV34. They were 65 and 66 respectively. So I simply transposed these values (CV34=66 and CV34=65). Worked perfectly.
Thanks so much for the CV33 and CV34 heads up. Not something easily found...at least by me...doing some quick internet searches while CV29 has page after page devoted to it
Bachmann has really improved their locos lately. This 4-8-4 runs smooth as silk. And their S4 and S2 I recently purchased also are amazingly smooth runners.
The Tsunami sounds are great in this 4-8-4. Just wish they had a spot on whistle for a passenger Santa Fe 4-8-4. The SP 6 chime (CV115=6) seems to be the closest to my ear.
Glad you got it figured out. I got the information from the Tsunami Steam User’s Guide on the Soundtraxx website. CV33 sets what the F0 forward function controls and CV34 sets what the F0 reverse function contorls. 1 is the headlight output and 2 is the rear light output. Where I messed up is unless you use a separate function to control it, you also have to turn on the Dynamo, which is 64, giving you the 64+1=65 and 64+2=66.
