Oh, I can see the train alright, at least at Dyckman Street, but I need a bell to wake up that big 1:1 oaf in the control tower so that he will know that a train is waiting at the signal and needs a line into the terminal. Some stations on the NYCT have buttons that the T/O can push to let the tower know that he is waiting and where it is that he wants to go. Some of these buttons are real sneaky, and actually align the switch. If you pust the wrong button you WILL go the wrong way. And try to explain that one to the trainmaster!

I have staging which will be hidden from view by a ridge of scenery. I plan to mount small mirrors on the ceiling, arranged so I can view the tracks while standing at the control panel.

OK, I can read the circuit posted earlier, but look, I have a whole barn full of dead mice. What say I open some up and recover the parts. How would you make a train detector from these parts.
