Mark,
Another helpful thing for you and for those reading your posts is to use a more specific title in your subject line. If you just write "Newbie question", chances are that many (who might have the exact answer you are looking for) might pass right over it - without even bothering to open it up and read it. Something succinct like "DCS locomotive ID address code" in your subject line will get you more readers and - more importantly - steer those who can help you with your dilemma your way.

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Not to turn you off from posting here or anything, but if you are talking about Lionel O or 027 three rail stuff, the Classic Toy Train Forum would be a better place to ask your questions.
Most of us here are HO and N scale modelers using two rail scale track and DCC and don't understand or use three-rail O gauge stuff.
I know electronics are electronics, but this particular question is about a specific item not familiar to most of us.

Elmer.
The above is my opinion, from an active and experienced Model Railroader in N scale and HO since 1961.
(Modeling Freelance, Eastern US, HO scale, in 1962, with NCE DCC for locomotive control and a stand alone LocoNet for block detection and signals.) http://waynes-trains.com/ at home, and N scale at the Club.
By the way thank you to Rob for helping me with the wal-wart adapter issue. I called Lionel and ordered one this morning.
Now. New Problem.
I have a Lionel 1274 tmcc diesel engine. I don't have the paperwork or box. I understand that you must have the engine ID address code to program it to work on DCS. Where can I find this information?
Thanks again.
Mark
