I have a heritage 0-6-0 and I would like to change the sounds. There doesn't appear to be any tables in the instructions. Are these values posted somewhere?

For the factory sound decoders there is not much sound changes to be made. Most of the QSI sound CVs will be an indexed CV. On an indexed CV there will be more than one CV to change to get the desired response from the decoder.

Yes, read the values in CVs 7 and 8. CV8 is the manufacturer identity, and CV7 is the decoder version. A value of 113 in CV8 is QSI, and 141 is SoundTraxx (Tsunami).
Bruce, enter programming on the main, or Ops, select CV 3, inertia, and input a value of 30. You can undo it later if you don't like inertia, or a slow build up of speed. However, by doing this simple step, a QSI will voice the change to you. It will say, in a loud male voice, "CV 3 equals three-zero." If it is silent, it is another brand, 99% likely to be a Tsunami.

I can't recall Walthers ever equipping any of its steamers with other than QSI. They just started using Tsunamis about a year ago but I don't recall steamers being in the lineup.....don't think any Heritage stuff even was offered last year.
As far as I know, the 0-6-0s and 0-8-0s were outfitted with QSI decoders.
