"sound value decoder" CV's
Posted by LAJ on Sunday, December 16, 2012 12:54 PM

Just picked up a Bachmann S-2 with the bachmann "sound value decoder"  What CV can I adjust to get the engine sound to stop / idle when the locomotive stops? It sounds like it is at full throttle for 3 second when stopped.

The CV values are available from both Bachmann and SoundTraxx.

On Bachmann's web site they are listed under the Parts and Service section.

On the SoundTraxx web site they are available under the documentation section for Bachmann decoders.

The following are links to the two locations Cacole referenced:

http://www.soundtraxx.com/factory/OEM%20pages/bachmann/bachmann.php

They actually take you to the same place.  Unfortunately, I don't see the S2 listed yet.

If you go to the Diesel Users Guide that is listed on the links, you'll find a list of the CVs on page 61.  However, some OEM installed Tsunami decoders don't support all the available CVs.  I don't know if this is the case for the S2 decoder.

I think you're going to have to call either Bachmann or Soundtraxx to get that answered.

As far as I can tell the S2 uses exactly the same board as the S4.  So the S4 CV sheet is what you need.

Nice locos.  I have an S4 and an S2.  Both are just super little switchers.
