What are you using for a controller? Might not be important right now, though. Maybe you somehow muted the sound. You did not give any details about what you did when you tried it on your own layout. More details can be important.

After you tried the loco at home, did you take it back to the club and try it again?

You replaced the Blueline decoder? Are the speakers OK? Check your connections and wires. You may have pinched a speaker wire. Also F8 wakes up a blueline that is not configured to operate on DCC only.

Broadway Limited's web site Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) say CV 8=8 will reset a Blue Line sound decoder, but they sent different instructions to us when we asked via email how to reset an RSD-15 decoder.

IIRC, there was a series of 4 or 5 CVs that had to be reset with the motor control decoder removed in order to reset that one.

I'd say try F8 as well.

I once thought my Athearn F3 sound died.  I tried reprogramming to factory defaults and some other things and then I tried F8.  Silly me, looks like I muted it as she came back to life after hitting F8.  Of course I had to reprogram everything back to my liking.

So before reprogramming, always try F8 first.
