Just had a thread about this the other week:

http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/744/t/211805.aspx

Works with pretty much any DCC system except MRC, they won't work with the JMRI developers to implement their protocols. All the other major manufactuers have.

This isn;t the old Lenz cordless phone thing, that had to be the most kludgy wireless implementation ever, which opened the door for the CVP Lenz compatible throttles. This is a specific app for model railroading, with slider throttles and buttons for direction and functions. No trying to remember which buttons 0-9, # and * do what to select and run your loco.

In my opinion the "telephone" wireless throttles suck.   We had several members of the club try to use them.   I don't think any of them stuck with it, they all eventually traded them in for --->   In my opinion, THE wireless solution for Lenz is CVP.  I can make this recommendation despite my recent argument with them over another issue.

I love them and have used them also for RailCommand and EasyDCC.

Wireless with Lenz DCC system

Hi, just getting back into model railroading after a ten year hiatus. I purchased a Lenz system a long time ago. I read something interesting on the Lenz site the other day about using iPhones, iPods, and Android phones as wireless throttles:

I was just curious if anyone had tried this, and how they thought of the system. Both how robust it is, and how well the phone interface actually works as a throttle.

Thanks!
