I'm working on making my headlights more realistic, but having trouble programming it exactly the way I want - What I'd like is to have the front headlight only dim on command, but currently the closest I've managed is to have it dim with F4 but also automatically dim when I reverse the unit. Is there a way I can program it to only dim on command? I haven't gotten around to my TCS decodered engines yet, mind you, so if you know how to do the same with them, feel free to skip ahead and explain now!

Can't help you with the Digitrax but the TCS is simple.
CV49=40 Dimmable headlight both directions
CV61=1 Enables BEMF and disables dimmed when stopped.
CV64= 2-6 for LED 12-18 for bulbs. Dim brightness.

With Digitrax decoders CV 49 controls the front headlight and CV 50 the rear light. IIRC 108 in CV 49 and 120 in CV50 makes the light bright in direction of travel and the other light dimmed. Not sure what number you'd need to enter in the CV's to get what you want. Sometimes with Digitrax it's just 'trial and error' (although Decoder Pro can help).
104 in CV49, 120 in CV50.
It's in the decoder manual, in fact that is the specific example they use to illustrate light function programming (plus ditch lights - so the CV values shown in the example is for dimming directional headlights plus flashing ditch lights). There's no trial and error, the function of each possible value is listed in the manual.
