Hello Community,
As a new member of the Community this is my first post. So here we go,
I bought a used HO scale Bachman diesel loco (GP40 shell, Chessie System #4139) which has a motor and light decoder (H601X-PCB01) factory installed with a manufacture date of 04/06/04 on it , I am looking at installing a sound decoder to the original DCC decoder already installed. Would anyone have have any suggestions on a sound decoder that is compatible with this factory installed decoder.
Thanks in Advance for the feedback.

That PCB that is in the loco is NOT a decoder, it is a constant lighting circuit for only the lights.
To install sound, you will need to first determine where and what sized speaker will fit, and then try to find a sound decoder that will replace the Bachmann PCB. A LokSound Select would probably be the best choice.
CACOLE thanks for the advice, I will look into this option, Thanks
This came up on the Bachmann Forum (see below), it's an "EZ Command" decoder, apparently made by Lenz.
Technically, yes, you can piggyback a "sound only" decoder on top of a regular one, like an MRC Sounder or Digitrax Soundbug. However, I find it doesn't work out that well - hard to get the sound decoder to not lose connection and drop in and out.
Plus, a 15-year old decoder is basically something Fred Flintstone would have used on his layout back in the stone age. Probably better just to buy a recent "state of the art" sound / motion / lights decoder from ESU, TCS, Digitrax etc. and replace the old one.
