Cleaning Bachmann Track
Posted by alloboard on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 3:32 PM

I have some dirty rusted Bachmann track. What abrasive product and liquid cleaning solution would anyone recommend for cleaning the roadbed itself?

Quite frankly if it is rusted it must be steel probably with black road bed and your best bet is to just throw it out and replace it with nickle silver track.

I wouldn't throw it out, I'd salvage the rails at least for scenic use or flatcar/gondola loads.

Agreed.  The nice part is you can unload the cars with a magnet.

(Never throw away ANYTHING that you might someday have to buy a replacement for...)
