There are times when I don't hear the AR-1 click.

I have five AR-1 units on my layout.  Whenever I install a new one, I first test it by simply wiring a section of test track along the edge of the layout.  If the loco crosses the gaps without shorting, the AR-1 is working.

Digitrax AR-1 and lightbulbs?
Posted by tbdanny on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 5:32 AM

Hi all,

I'm trying to use a Digitrax AR-1 to automatically switch rail polarity to a turntable (one of the Kitwood Hill Models ones).  I've wired the AR-1 correctly, but I can't hear the relay 'click' with the adjustment knob at any of the extremes.

I have got a lightbulb connected between the Lenz base station and the track, and I was wondering - is it likely that the lightbulb will be tripping before the auto-reverser does?  Or is it possible I've got a dud unit?

Thanks in advance,
tbdanny
