I think the aerotrain package from Litchfield includes more than just a modified horn. It does not have a loksound number and the Diesel_AMD103 i bought from them I believe had other custom sounds other than just the amtrak K5LA
It's actually super easy to swap the horns out, if it's a V4.0 or V3.5 decoder. Among the other downloads they have for the Lokprogrammer are complete libraries of all their sounds. I built a V4.0 project for an Alco RS3 this way - the Alco project they have for download has a different horn than the one I need, but their library has the one I wanted. A few clicks and the horn is swapped out with the correct one from the library, and I have a new project witht he proper prime mover and correct horn without any sound editing or complicated programming.

Don't need to contact Litchfield Station - just download the file from the ESU site. It's a standard EMD567 12 cylinder file. The only variable is what type of decoder he has. With the 3.5 and 4.0 decoders, you have to download the file with the horn you need - in this case, a 3-chime Leslie. If it's a Select decoder, it's just a matter of selecting the proper horn from the sixteen horns that are already pre-loaded in the file.

You should just be able to download the standard 567 file for what you need. The horn may be the tricky part. The Select comes with 16 horns already pre-loaded (the 4.0's will as well very shortly). If it's an older 3.5, you will have to load the horn file yourself if you can't locate it already preloaded, so it may take a bit of trial and error to find the same one you originally had. I'm assuming you've already been checking out the files on the ESU site. (?)
If it was loaded once, you can load it again as everything is still available as a download on the ESU site.

Even though that is a complete decoder, it had to have been programmed at one time. If that was the case, I'm assuming (always a bad thing, I know) that the sound set on it should be one of those that Loksound canned. And if that's the case, you should be able to find out which of the sound sets it is and get that loaded onto your decoder.
Have you tried accessing the Locsound web site and downloading the program that allows you to review the sound sets?

As for fideltity to protype, the Aerotrain I believe had a 567 prime mover, not sure about horn specifics. A F-unit sound file would likely be close if not right on, unless Con-Cor added some other effects. --Randy

When I did the Googling thing the reference I saw to the sound package I referenced above stated that it was the 567 motor with "the correct horn" sound. Since I wouldn't know right from wrong, I suggest that the OP look up that sound package and give it a listen.
Does that loco have a Loksound decoder in it? (I'm assuming yes since you mention the programmer) Did you search the Loksound site for that particular sound, or ask them if they had it? Maybe the same questions to Concor?
I also found some information that suggests that the Loksound 72430 sound package is the one to use, but I can't get a link to come up that I can post. Try putting Loksound Aerotrain into the Google search box and see what comes up.
I did a Bad Thing a little while ago, and did a total reset on the decoder in my ConCor Aerotrain. I was wondering if anyone has the sound package necessary to reprogram it? I've been looking around for some time, and haven't found any in various libraries on the Internet.
I should mention; I've seen a number of places online that have custom installs, and I guess I could send the train (or just the decoder) to them, but... I've got the LokProgrammer, it would be easiest if I could just get a file of the proper sounds.
