 I think you have your answer, you say it ran on DC. A decoder that is not dual mode, or one that is dual mode and has the analog (DC) mode turned off would not move under DC track power.

I bought a secondhand Proto 2K GP30 off of eBay. It has a NCE D104P2K decoder in it. Is this decoder a DCC only or dual mode? I tested it and it runs on DC. I don't have DCC yet but planning on getting the Easy DCC from CVP. Earl...
