Dave's right.  My statements only apply to HO.  Sorry if I misled you.

Hi tbwestern,

MisterBeasley models in HO and really doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to DCS.  MTH does indeed make decoder kits (they refer to them as "conversion kits") for G-gauge and O-gauge.  For your U-25 diesel you will want to order #50-1902 from MTH or a dealer.  I highly recommend you contact Ray Manley.  He is the leading authority on DCS in G-gauge and has performed numerous Protosound 2 decoder installations in non-MTH locomotives.

DCC and DCS are not the same.  Some of MTH's DCS decoders will run on DCC, but no one's DCC decoders will run on DCS.

You can't buy DCS decoders separately.  They are only available installed in MTH engines.  The only way to get one would be to see if anyone has replaced a DCS decoder with a DCC decoder, and has the DCS one still sitting in a parts box on his bench.

In short, it's unlikely that you can do what you want.

I am interested in the MTH DCS control and would like to install the DCC and sound in a G Aristo-Craft U-25B, need to know what brand would work with the MTC DCS control.

Has anyone installed one and used the MTH DCS system, I emailed MTH but their response was not very helpful.
