I have a pair of Athearn Genesis F3A/B locos with factory equipped Tsunami sound that I recently bought. Unlike any other sound equipped loco on the layout, when I turn on the DCC power, the sounds start up on these two Athearn Genesis locos. All of the other locos remain silent until I call up their number on the throttle.
Is there any easy fix for this so that these two locos remain silent when I power up the layout?

I'm going to watch this thread. I have Bachmann F7/AB with factory sound, they do the same thing. Going through their start up procedure when the track is turned on.

Checl CV113, the quiet mode timeout. If it's set to 0, the sounds will come on with track power. Anything non-zero, the sounds will only come on when the loco is addressed, and will turn off cv113 x0.25 seconds after the loco is stopped and all functions are turned off (so if you keep the headlight on, it will sit there idling even if no longer addressed, there is a different CV that controls shutting down if no packets are sent to the decoder and no broadcast packets are sent, but if you stop the loco and make sure all functions including the headlight are turned off, it will stop all sounds in the time specified by CV113.)
The OEM versions in Bachmann locos might not support this, check and see.

I have an Athearn Genesis GP15-1 with OEM Tsunami sound and it supports Quiet Mode Timeout via CV 113. I keep mine set at 20 seconds and that works well for me.

Glad to see it worked. Just an FYI, the soundtraxx tsunami engine start up and shut down sequence will only happen if you use a handheld. If using a command station to select/de-select locos, this won't happen.
When using a command station, CV 113 will mute it, but when re-calling the loco, the sound will just come back on and not go through the start up sequence.
Also, it doesn't matter what brand of loco (athearn, atlas, bachmann, kato, etc), it's a soundtraxx thing.

I mentioned brand because Bachmann uses an OEM reduced functionality version of the Tsunami, which doesn;t have all of the features of the full blown Tsunami. A lot of the audio processing options are removed, for one thing. Not sure what Athearn uses, my Bowser has an ordinary off the shelf Tsunami so it's the same as one you've installed yourself.
Bachmann has s document with the supported CVs, and it's been posted here before.
Yeah, I guess I could have been more specific. I was relating to my own experiences when converting DC locos to DCC by installing soundtraxxt tsunami decoders.
I have used TSU-1000's and AT-1000's on installs and had this "they all come on when turning on the command station" and also the "start up/shut down sounds". I sent an email to soundtraxx asking about this and they said it's because I'm using a command station to call-up the locos.
This is a slight inconvenience until I get handhelds going,
