One thing the TCS instructions leave out is the fact that this loco is NOT DCC ready. The motor is grounded to the frame and in a derailment, a wheel could touch the frame, linkign the decoder input to the decoder output - instantly frying the decoder.

I posted pictures of an install I did in oen fo these locos here: http://community.webshots.com/album/163958178NgaXTy

I also filed the frame to fit a Digitrax DH163L0 decoder so I didn;t have to change the ligh tbulbs on that one. I've since done another one with a TCS T1 and changing the lights out for LEDs, but I didn;t take pictures, or maybe I did and they're still on my camera 2 years later. Combine the TCS instructions with my pictures showing the repalcement orange wire and you'll have it.

I have an Erie Lackawanna S2 engine that needs a decoder. It is a  P2K #21357. What is the easiest decoder to put in?

Thanks  Mike Dickinson  Jamestown NY
