Yes that is the circuit that I was looking for. The older Yamaha receiver that I have does have a MONO mode. Although, with more research the new Surroundtrax the more it looks like the way to go. I got used to the big sound when I owned the predecessor to this back in the early nineties and when I was in O scale. My layout will only be 6 by 18 feet, and since I do a lot of just watching the trains roll by the Surroundtrax in the non transponding mode sounds perfect.

Or get a QSI Titan, those are stereo. You'd need two of the circuits show, one for the left and one for the right.

I guess I am a little confused on what he wants as he said he knows how to connect a decoder to a speaker/amplifier..
The below is all I have for connecting a Tsunami. I guess he would have to parallel the output to each channel.
I did a Google search for 5.1 receiver. Just a left and right audio input. I would connect both inputs to the 1 k ouput transformer.

Yes, it can be done. You need a circuit to match the output of the Tsunami to the amplifier inputs, as it is too large a signal to connect directly.
It will be mono only, so you will get no benefit from the 5.1 capability, unless you can switch it into mono mode.

I am familiar with how to wire a Tsunami under the table and to a speaker to have under layout sound, but is there a way to wire the Tsunami outputs to a 5.1 Receiver in order to amplify the sound through four different speakers under the layout? I think I remember somewhere someone on here did this with a MRC Synchro Box. I think the MRC is just a boxed MRC decoder. What needs to be added to the Tsunami outputs to connect it to a Receiver's input?
The reason I am contemplating this is that the only locos I have left that need sound are all 567 powered and I also am looking for some bass oomph.
Any ideas?
