Just received my first loco (gift), an Auscision HO B Class (Victorian Railways). Went to local hobby store to buy a DCC sound decoder & shop owner recommended a LokSound Select Direct (73700).
After taking off the body (not easy as it is a very tight fit), I couldn't see how on earth you could plug in the decoder.
Auscision's instructions says to remove the 8 pin dummy plug (which I can't find) and then install the decoder.
I can't get past first base, can anybody who knows Auscision brand help me please?
Is there an illustrated book, DCC for Absolutely Stupid Dummies published yet?
Nice to see something a bit different on the forums, I had never heard of Auscision before. Anyway a Google search turns up this link http://www.dccsound.com/soundinstalls.htm go down about half way and there are photos of a class B.
I would say that since it has an 8 pin plug that this ought to be a fairly easy DCC install, but that the sound may me a bit more challenging. That web site dccsound.com looks like an excellent resource for the Aussie modeller.
BTW, Happy New Year, since it is already 2112 Down Under. We still have 16 plus hours to go.
